During waste sterilization, prevent highpressure sterilization bags from melting or bursting inside the autoclave. Bursting may cause leakage of sample liquid from waste onto the chamber bottom. Under high temperature, the leaked liquid evaporates within the chamber, resulting in secondary contamination that is difficult to clean and may cause severe corrosion to the chamber.

  1. Personal protection
1.Prior to waste sterilization operations, operators shall wear personal protective equipment including gloves, goggles or face shields, masks and protective clothing.
2.Operators shall maintain good personal hygiene, wash hands frequently and avoid direct contact with waste materials.
  2. Proper loading
1.Use dedicated highpressure biological sterilization bags.
2.Do not place acidic, alkaline or positive samples inside highpressure sterilization bags, as these substances may corrode the bags and cause rupture.
3.Use wastededicated stainlesssteel lifting buckets and bottomtrayequipped lifting baskets. Never place waste sterilization bags directly on the inner chamber of the autoclave.
Note: Zealway provides custommanufactured lifting baskets, perforatable lifting buckets and detachable tray bases in various heights.
  3. Selection and operation of sterilization equipment
1.Confirm that the equipment is in good working condition before operation. Select an autoclave with accurate temperature control to avoid actual temperature exceeding set value, which may lead to melting or bursting of highpressure sterilization bags.
2.Set appropriate sterilization parameters such as temperature, pressure and duration according to waste characteristics and equipment specifications.
3.Closely monitor equipment status throughout the sterilization process to guarantee satisfactory sterilization performance.
  4. Poststerilization equipment maintenance
1.Power off the equipment upon completion of sterilization, then perform cleaning and maintenance.
2.For waste sterilization, replace water and clean the chamber after every batch run.
PS: Zealway autoclave automatic drainage function: Drainage can be triggered by pressing the drain button or configured as scheduled drainage. Automatic cleaning function supports scheduled cleaning or cleaning after each sterilization cycle. It eliminates operational concerns and keeps the autoclave clean.
  5. Waste disposal
1.Sterilized waste shall be properly packaged to prevent crosscontamination and spillage.
2.Waste packaging shall comply with local waste management regulations and standards, including proper classification and labelling.
3.Store waste in designated areas pending safe transportation and disposal.
  6. Training and awareness promotion
1.Personnel performing waste sterilization shall receive required training to master correct operating procedures and safety precautions.
2.Conduct regular training and drills to ensure operators are familiar with specifications and capable of handling emergency situations.
3.Raise staff awareness regarding the significance of waste management and foster proper wastehandling practices.
The above operating specifications are for reference only. Actual operations shall be adjusted and supplemented according to onsite conditions. Always comply with local laws, regulations and standards during operation to ensure safe and effective waste sterilization.
